Prologue

She lay on a mattress atop a scaffolding platform five metres above the ground. The hand crafted sniper rifle pulled tight against her right shoulder. Through the telescopic sight she could see a cantaloupe on a bird table thirty-five metres away. She squeezed the trigger and felt the rifle kick back through the padding on her shoulder; the sound of the shot echoed through the building.

Her partner watching the cantaloupe through a high speed digital camera, replayed the shot. The more conventional target behind the fruit had a hole above and to the left of the bull’s eye.

NRF: This was a very interesting story line, although the author did not go far enough in explaining the war and why some received special powers and some didn't. I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more of this author's writing.

briggy1998: I really enjoyed the book, even though I had to skip a few lines, because at times it could get a bit disturbing🙆🏻😅What I would have liked is if you could have given a bit more insight into jack's and fiona's relationship, especially the epilogue was a bit short 😬Other than that an amazing story!
