Blurb

Le Alba: the land of peaceful twilight became a corrupt society on the brink of war. To save the people , the Magical Liberation council formed guilds that would perform music to the people and go on missions that would keep them from the dangers of the shadow world. One of the most famous of these guilds was Twilight Heart. From hostile attacks to Anti-Government Guilds, aiming to bring mass destruction, every moment is an adventure. But when a CSOG assassin Perez, threatens to revive the Dark Oviri Darkyn, Noori and Pennie will have to accept a truth from the past that they wasn’t ready to face and overcome their fears if they hope to heal the hearts of those who have lost their way.

Prologue- Is This The End?

The red moon shone upon them. It was the same colour as the blood that covered the ground.

War, Devastation and pain. That was all that remained.

Pennie looked down at her shaken hands. She tried to stand but her legs were too weak. Blood trickled down her cheek. Through a blurred vision she looked up at her attacker.

The malicious man laughed at their misfortune. His glowering glare kept Pennie entrapped with fear. It was as if all of her confidence was consumed by the Phoenix Oviri’s Red demonic eyes. The black scar across the left side of his face made him seem even more dominating.

“I’m Sorry…” Lynx muttered crouched next to her in pain, “If only I was a full Elemental, this wouldn’t have happened.”

Pennie shook her head, her eyes becoming teary. She could not speak as her heart raced.

“It wouldn’t have mattered if you were!” Demon laughed with a high pitched squeak, “No mere mortal stands a chance against the Phoenix Demon!”

Pennie’s limbs ached. She knew they never had a chance. It was foolish of them to think otherwise. Their time was up once they engaged in the battle. Even if she had Nooriya by her side, it wouldn’t have been enough. Even though it hurt, she wished he was there. So at least she could die along side him.

Her stupid pride got in the way. She had thought that fighting Demon would be her chance to protect the one she loved. But she was wrong. Once she was dead, the evil Phoenix would go after him. She had failed, failed to be anything more than worthless.

“I know I say this a lot,” Pennie said with tears, “but this time it really is the end… isn’t it?”

Lynx said nothing but nodded.

Pennie gave a weak smile. Deep down she still wished that Noori would jump in and save her, like he always did. But this time it wasn’t going to happen. There was no hope. The war was going to destroy everything she cared about. Not even A.V herself could save them now.

She closed her eyes as the final spell of destruction came hurtling towards them.

Lydia Walters: I really enjoyed this novel. It gives us a view of what could be if we really tried. Also that there's nothing wrong with loving our LORD and our fellow humans. couldn't wait to get to each new chapter (mission). Thanks, Joe!

Hudson: Your story was fantastic Erin! The Rising Sun was one of the first stories I read on Inkitt, and I have to say I don't regret the three to four days I spent pouring through the story.Probably the biggest strength I see in your writing is your characterisation of Eliana, Oriens, and the rest of th...

re8622: The Last Exodus quickly grabbed my attention. Almost as soon as I started reading the story, I couldn't put it down. I found that the ideas the author put forth were very thought provoking given the turmoil we have seen gradually rise over the last several years. I felt that I could understand th...

aoifecollopy22: I loved how the author had the conflict come back later in the story. Also how they passed time without going over anything. That really helped move the story along. This kept my up for a few hours. YOU SHOULD READ THIS

SPepper: I had a hard time putting this book down even to go to sleep. The story is compelling and beautifully character driven. I hope author will make this a series.

makaylakay: I love love this story! It's written incredibly and well thought-out plot! I love how it's a different twist in fantasy fiction, other then the usual vampire or werewolves. Love the romantics and drawn to the two characters so much already! This book will draw you in within the first chapter and ...

ArgyrisMetaxas: Thrilling story which builds layer ontop of layer. A few mis spellings every few chapters. What I found special was that it took a modern day problem and took it to its logical conclusion and plays this realism with gritting precision. I'm always on edge ready to shout from adrenaline. This is gr...

Erin Crowley: The concept here is really strong, but the execution is definitely lacking. Tenses, grammar, etc are all off, with at least one or more errors per 'Page' on my phone. The writing style is almost broken- sentences move into each other awkwardly, and are filled with an excess of "filler words", lik...

genlynne2379: I read the other review of this book and I must say that I disagree with it wholeheartedly. I do not believe the author put the apostrophes in the names just to be unique, but because the characters are supposedly of a different race than humans. They are Anmah. They should have different names a...

Marijana1: The melancholy present throughout this story has the power to influence and etch into the minds of the readers, to stay there and refuse to leave even after they have finished reading the story. This is a deep, powerful story, making the readers wonder about everything – about love, about their e...

maewilde25: I am so in love with this story!!! captivated me till the very end, there wasn't a dull moment. Didn't particularly enjoy the lay out and some bits of info was missing along with how a 21 year old man amassed so much wealth that needed to be explained other than that and a few spelling errors, th...

Roy Jenner: I was pleased to join the action where this B-17 was limping back across the English Channel defying all odds. Obviously written by a person more than familiar with the interior of the Flying Fortresses that were familiar in the skies of Southern England during World War 2. Plenty of action here ...

Felisa Yoder Osburn: I really enjoyed the story. Civil War stories are some of my favorites and the intertwining of the past with current times was wonderful. I look forward to reading the next stories.
